The South Berwick Town Council voted at its meeting on April 27, 2009 to appoint a five member Energy Committee. They have appropriated $2,500 for a municipal energy assessment.?An active volunteer citizen group, Green Up South Berwick has done weatherization with Rotary (100-150 citizens involved) and conducted workshops on energy efficiency.
A group of S. Berwick citizens met with RGGI Trust Committee in Augusta - influenced policy re: the rules for administering the Maine Carbon Trust. The Marshwood High School recycling club has convinced school officials to start a demonstration project this spring with the installation of three solar pv panels at the school.
